Siguen clases suspendidas en el pacífico de Nicaragua; replicas del terremoto seguirán

El gobierno de Nicaragua mantiene la suspensión de clases de primaria y secundaria, en la región del Pacífico del país, dentro de la alerta amarilla decretada por el sismo del pasado lunes por la noche.

La primera dama y vocera gubernamental Rosario Murillo Zambrana realizó el anuncio a través de los medios de comunicación oficialistas.

Murillo se refirió además a la actividad sísmica de hoy, y la reconstrucción de 170 viviendas en todo en el país de familias afectadas por las lluvias.

Ineter advierte: seguirán réplicas por terremoto de 7.3

Tras el sismo de magnitud 7.3 que sacudió el pasado lunes el Pacífico de Nicaragua y otros países centroamericanos, se esperan más réplicas fuertes, indicaron hoy especialistas del Instituto Nicaragüense de Estudios Territoriales, Ineter.

Las réplicas podrían llegar hasta magnitud seis, pero no provocarán daños ni tsunamis, dijo el científico Wilfried Strauch durante una conferencia de prensa sobre el comportamiento sísmico y climatológico del país.

Según el científico del Ineter, ha habido gran cantidad de réplicas pero dada la distancia de más de 60 km - hipocentro ubicado a 40 km de profundidad en una falla de 150 km de largo Golfo de Fonseca- a la ciudad más cercana no se han sentido.

Desde el lunes en la noche el Gobierno decretó Alerta Amarilla y suspensión de clases en todo el Pacífico. Los departamentos más afectados son León y Chinandega donde se reportaron daños en viviendas. END

Sismo de 4.6 grados sacude el pacifico de Costa Rica

Un sismo de 4.6 grados en la escala de magnitud de momento sacudió este miércoles el Pacífico central de Costa Rica, sin que se reportaran víctimas ni daños, según la Red Sismológica Nacional (RSE).

El temblor, que se sintió con intensidad en el Valle Central, donde está la capital San José y las otras tres ciudades importantes del país, ocurrió a las 7:40 p.m  hora local (01:40 GMT del jueves), según la RSN, de la Universidad de Costa Rica, la principal del país.

De acuerdo con el reporte, el movimiento telúrico tuvo una profundidad de 32.1 km y su epicentro fue localizado en la provincia de Puntarenas, en Quepos, en la zona costera. - LP | SAN JOSE/AFP
